Frequently Asked Questions/Resources
What Is Reiki?
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy” and so represents the life energy that flows through all living beings. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice, nor is it based on specific beliefs or suggestions. Natural healers understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing and that this state leads to positive and increasing health ~ mentally, emotionally and physically.
The practice of Reiki itself is generally done with hands placed about four inches off an individual’s body or through a distance healing focus. And the intention is to share and support Universal Life Energy to create deep relaxation, help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms being experienced. As with any other form or style of energy assisted healing, Reiki is not viewed as a substitute for physical medical intervention/care when necessary, but rather as part of ongoing ‘primary care’ or a supportive tool for increased healing, health, and personal insights.
What Is Intuitive Reading?
My personal perspective is that we are all born with psychic abilities ~ also referred to as our intuition or third sight. Some of us just use it more frequently and like with any ‘muscle’ the more we use it the stronger our psychic abilities or intuition becomes – and the more we can trust the messages being provided to us. Participating in an intuitive reading is a way of getting guidance from an objective source about issues you are currently struggling to understand. An intuitive reading helps to define choices you have already made and also emphasizes your freedom of choice while giving you other options to help you understand your situation. Having this type of consultation and conversation can show you certain paths that you might not have thought of, or that were not that clear to you before, even offering a different and helpful perspective on your situation.
When an intuitive reading is given, the reader is picking up energetic patterns from the client, some of which may not be consciously recognized or acknowledged at the moment.. These patterns integrate the current state of mind of the client and the decisions made up until this point. Therefore the reading that is given is based on where they are currently at, and is always subject to an individual’s free will choices. However, an intuitive reading can help empower change, understand what our strengths are, bring to light options that we may not necessarily see and show us how to use these to live up to our highest potential.
What Does a Medium Do?
A medium serves as an intermediary between the world of the living and the world of spirit, sharing communications for both parties to assist in healing, learning, peace, and growth. Every person has an ability to communicate with spirits, angels, ancestors, and more, however the degree of effectiveness in this conversation is a matter of the level of practice, inner clarity, and experience. Since each individual person is unique in their characteristics and experiences, each practicing medium has their own particular ways to listen, interpret, and share messages…so you may feel more comfortable working with a particular professional’s style based on your own style as well.
A medium who has received certification has completed a specific training program, had their communication abilities affirmed by an experienced teacher/practitioner, and agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics for the highest and best good of all. There are other individuals with naturally born abilities who have had little or no ‘formal’ training, but are outstanding communicators and conduits for healing. In my own case, most of my learning has come through direct guidance from my inner teachers and experiences ~ however I am privileged to have also been certified by the esteemed medium and teacher Carol Nicholson.
What is a Full Life Doula?
The Full Life Doula role, sometimes also referred to as Spirit Doula or Soul Doula, represents individuals who focus on assisting others through the human lifetime experiences of transitions, shifts, emotions, transformations, health considerations, and more. Energetic words embraced by a Full Life Doula include regeneration, reconnecting, re-remembering, rejuvenating, nurturing, exploring, creating, expanding, manifesting, and alchemy practice and mastery. Just as birth doulas and end of life (death) doulas assist all involved souls in those particular precious phases, so does the Full Life Doula assist all souls living the human living experience with spiritual birth, understanding, and growth…integrating mind, body, spirit intentions and wellness in whatever form, words, appearance, actions, priorities, and purposes chosen by each individual. All doulas hold the energetic space of listening, compassion, free-will choice options, non-judgment support, and collaboration.
What Is Shamanism?
While the term “shamanism” may initially conjure up primarily images of indigenous medicine men and women, it is actually a way that people from any culture can heal themselves and others, work with the past and future, relate in new ways to a higher power (Spirit, God, Universe, or other nomenclature), and re-envision the interaction and inter-dependencies between human life, nature, animals, and the unseen worlds and energies that surround us.
Using such specific traditional tools as journeying, dialoging, soul retrieval, communicating with spirit guides (angels, ancestors, animal totems, spiritual teachers, and more), plant medicine, and other energy connections, a shaman assists themselves and others to find new perspectives, personal contracts, and expressions of unique purposes and contributions. Bach Flower Remedies Importance
Dr. Edward Bach (1886-1936) was a British medical doctor, bacteriologist, homeopath, and spiritual writer, best known for developing the Bach Flower Remedies. After many years of successful practice within the traditional medical fields in hospitals and his own private practice focusing on physical symptoms treatment, Dr. Bach chose to leave those roles to explore his theory that the root cause of physical manifestations was related to an individual’s inner spirit health and balance (note: similar to the concepts of dis-connection and dis-ease within shamanic practice and other ancient arts). Rather than focusing on traditional physical classification and symptom identification, Dr. Bach demonstrated that by increasing awareness of each person’s unique purposes and experiences it was possible to minimize or eliminate the escalation of emotional responses and habits into physical illness, disease, and traumatic events. And, it was also possible to positively impact existing physical imbalances or conditions by circling back to the emotional energetic triggers and then allow for re-balancing and restoration toward physical wellness too.
Using naturally derived essences from flowers, shrubs, trees, and water to provide matching beneficial healing vibrations with an individual’s current state of being could support and empower significant changes that would reflect in a person’s outlook, coping mechanisms, resilience, energetic presence, and more. He identified 38 particular plant essences to address his researched areas of energetically influenced emotions, and then provided analysis and examples of how all aspects of each plant contributed toward the better understanding, uplifting, and support for integrated human health. “Treat the individual, not the illness” was a prime tenant of his approach. The Bach flower remedies have been used for over 90 years with both people and animals, and are widely available around the world in consistently-produced liquid form. There is much information available in the form of books, courses, articles, and workshops – and practitioners hold the ethics of freely sharing information to all in the spirit of Dr. Bach’s original intentions for self-care, discovery, and healing.
After many years of working with spirit medicine of flowers, plants, trees, gemstones, and other natural creations, I decided to offer Bach Flower Remedies for clients (people and animals) beginning in 2025 to also assist with a more ‘visible, tangible, instantly vibrational’ option that our physical bodies will especially appreciate and utilize effectively during this particularly active transitional time for both humanity and our planet Earth. The added support of such naturally high essence vibrations combined with the precious gift of water’s lessons will continue to be an uplifting comfort for all who desire increased balance and perspective for their wholeness of Be-ing.
